Carlos Santana stretches low to hit home run number nine

by Gavin Tramps | Twins Correspondent | Sat, Jun 27th 5:48pm EDT

1B Carlos Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the loss to the Orioles on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

At 14.1" off the ground, this was one of the lowest fastballs ever hit for a home run. Carlos Santana is the most patient of hitters but he stretched down low to crush the ball from a long way outside the strike zone. Perhaps this signals a change in approach for the first baseman who has been receiving criticism from some fans for walking too much. Interesting, Santana's 2015 stats (9HR, 36RBI, 34R, .218 AVG) do not look much different to this time last year (12HR, 31RBI, 33R, .208AVG).
