Zack Greinke finally gets a W shutting out the Marlins

by Stan Son | Sun, Jun 28th 7:20pm EDT

Zack Greinke was once again brilliant Sunday against the Miami Marlins. He pitched 7.2 innings of scoreless baseball while allowing four hits, walking one, and striking out six. 65-of-101 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

Greinke hasn't allowed an earned run in his last three starts (20.2 innings). It's the most since his Cy Young year in 2009. On the year, he's sporting a 1.58 ERA with a 0.91 WHIP. He's struck out 94 in 108.1 innings, but only has a 6-2 recored. He probably won't win the Cy Young this year because of Max Scherzer, but he wll be in the mix. While his ERA is a miniscule 1.58, his FIP is 2.92 so there is bound to be some regression to the upside for his ERA.
