Jacob deGrom

Jacob deGrom has an off day

On Thursday, the Mets lost to Chicago Cubs 6-1 and got swept by them in the season series. Jacob deGrom looked like a shell of himself on the mound going 5 1/3, allow 4 runs on seven hits, two walks, and struck out two batters.

Fantasy Impact:

deGrom looked rough on the mound, he was missing location with his pitches and was getting hit around more then he has all season. deGrom has struggled this season against the Cubs he has two loses, and has only struck out seven batters in those two starts. It was one of his worst starts, but the benefit is he's a young guy who can produce. deGrom will bounce back and it's just one bad start in what has otherwise been a good season. With the loss he is now 8-6, with a 2.30 ERA in 105 2/3 innings, and 102 strikeouts. deGrom will help any team that is looking for a top end pitcher that can strikeout people in bunches, and doesn't have as many bad outings as an older guy might. It'll be interesting to see how deGrom bounces back in his next start.
