Kenley Jansen not available on Saturday

Kenley Jansen was not available to pitch on Saturday after throwing a season-high 24 pitches last night. J.P. Howell got the save in the Dodgers 4-3 victory over the Mets.

Fantasy Impact:

Jansen was not sharp last night, as he was missing location and his velocity was down. Throwing 24 pitches probably prompted Mattingly to give Jansen a day off. If Jansen were to go down for an extended period of time, it would be a full-blow committee. Yimi Garcia, Adam Liberatore, and Pedro Baez all allowed an earned run in their appearance Saturday. J.P. Howell earned the save because Baez was struggling and Mattingly wanted to matchup lefty against lefty for Curtis Granderson. Howell ended up striking out Granderson.
