Robinson Cano has been battling stomach ailment

by Blaine Blontz | Tue, Jul 7th 11:55am EDT

Seattle Mariners 2B Robinson Cano has been battling a stomach ailment for over a year, according to Jorge L. Ortiz of USA Today Sports. Cano describes the ailment. "It still affects me,'' Cano said. "Sometimes you drink water and it makes you feel like vomiting. I can't eat the same way I did. It's hard to deal with, especially being the first time this has happened to me. Sometimes I eat only once a day before playing, because I feel full. And you just don't have the same energy.'' (Jorge L. Ortiz)

Fantasy Impact:

Cano said he had been hesitant to disclose the ailment in order to avoid making excuses. His critics will likely tout the ailment as just that, but if it is as he says it is then it can help explain his tough 2015 campaign. Considering the illness is said to be lingering, with no end in sight, this news likely deflates any remaining value he had from owners looking to sell low. Those that want to buy low should do so with caution.
