Matt Harrison rumored to be heading to Philly

According to sources, the Rangers will be announcing a trade to acquire starting pitcher Cole Hamels and reliever Jake Diekman for Matt Harrison and five prospects, including catcher Jorge Alfaro. (www.mlb.com)

If this comes true, it answers the question whether the Rangers would be buyers or sellers before the deadline. Apparently, GM Jon Daniels feels his squad still has a chance to earn a playoff spot this year, and is also looking toward the future. The prospect of a rotation featuring Hamels, Yu Darvish, Derek Holland, and a combination of Colby Lewis/Yovani Gallardo/Martin Perez is one that could be very exciting. Of course, Gallardo could still be traded, Lewis would have to be resigned while Darvish, Holland and Perez are all in different stages of rehabbing from surgeries.
