Brian McCann connects for 18th home run

by Sean Blank | Wed, Aug 5th 12:34am EDT

New York Yankees backstop Brian McCann added to the power surge that was displayed Tuesday night in the Bronx, connecting for his 18th home run of the season in the seventh inning off of Red Sox reliever Craig Breslow. The three-run shot was lifted into the second deck in right field, totaling three home runs in the past five games for McCann.

Fantasy Impact:

It's always nice to own a catcher who can regularly hit for power, and Brian McCann seems to be back to his previous form that made him popular in Atlanta. The only negative that came out of the game Tuesday was that McCann mentioned his knee grabbed him a bit after attempting to block a wild pitch, so stay tuned to find out if it's anything serious.
