Pedro Alvarez wins game with pinch hit in 10th

Pedro Alvarez delivered a clutch pinch-hit in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Pirates take the first game of the series against Western Division leading Los Angeles. With the game billed as a pitcher's duel, pitting Clayton Kershaw against Gerrit Cole, neither pitcher was sharp and a plethora of relief pitchers were used.
Fantasy Impact:
While only collecting five hits in his last 23 at bats, Alvarez has driven in six runs, a very encouraging statistic for Alvarez owners. Owners would like to see him hitting with more power, but delivering RBI when given the chance is just what the doctor ordered.
