RBI, run and two walks for Carlos Santana

by Gavin Tramps | Twins Correspondent | Sun, Aug 9th 12:16pm EDT

1B Carlos Santana went 1-for-4 with a run, RBI and two walks in Saturday's blowout 17-4 victory over the Twins.

Fantasy Impact:

Like last season, Carlos Santana is a walk-machine, with an AL-leading 74 free-passes. Unlike last season, he is not punishing the bad pitches with authority. In 2014, he had .536 SLG with 14 home runs from June 1 to August 9. In the same period this year, it has dropped to .379 SLG with just six home runs. Perhaps last year saw the peak of his production. He will play DH on Sunday in the series finale vs. the Twins, with new acquisition Chris Johnson manning first base. Don't expect too much, Carlos Santana has a miserable .111 AVG vs. Phil Hughes in 18 at-bats.
