Jay Bruce homers in loss to Padres

The Reds managed just four hits in a 2-1 loss to the Padres on Monday. Jay Bruce accounted for the Reds only run with a home run in the second inning. It was Bruce's 18th home run of the season and is now batting .248.
Fantasy Impact:
The homer was Bruce's first in his last 12 games. Having said that, his home run total already matches last year's total and is on pace to approach 30 home runs. Bruce remains one of the better power options in the outfield.
