John Axford earns 17th save of season

John Axford collected his 17th save of the season against the Nationals on Thursday night at Coors Field. Axford resumed his role of closer for the Rockies as of August 18.
Fantasy Impact:
After manager Walt Weiss announced that John Axford would reassume his role of closer for the Rockies, Axford has looked like his old self, as he struck out the side in the ninth after giving up a lead-off single and a walk. Look for Axford to improve on his 4.65 ERA as his confidence builds.
