Daniel Murphy with a big night at the plate in Mets win

by Nick Ritrivi | Tue, Aug 25th 9:25am EDT

Murphy went three-for-six with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in the Mets 16-7 win over the Phillies. Murphy was one of seven Mets to homer and contributed to the Mets' franchise record of eight home runs hit in one game. The Mets also became the first team in MLB history to have their 1 through 7 hitters all hit a HR in the same game.

Fantasy Impact:

Murphy has been hot at the plate lately, along with the entire Mets' offense. On the season, Murph has raised his batting average to .287 and now has 10 HR and 52 RBI. Right now he remains a cheap/solid 2B start option in DFS formats and deeper seasonal leagues.
