Paul Goldschmidt

Paul Goldschmidt lone offensive bright spot in blowout loss

by Tony Pontecorvo | Cardinals Correspondent | Wed, Aug 26th 3:48am EDT

Paul Goldschmidt continued to show signs of coming out of his August-long swoon by going 2-for-2 with a double and a walk before being lifted in the 8th inning. The walk was his fourth in the past three games and he has struck out just once in the past four games after having a 24-to-9 K/BB ratio in the month through August 21.

Fantasy Impact:

Even while struggling, Goldschmidt is a must-have in your lineup regardless of matchup. He has had big games in August they just have not been as frequent as the first four months of the season when it seemed it was every other game. One thing to keep an eye on for Goldschmidt is a possible paternity leave. His wife is expecting any day and he may be pulled from the lineup at the last minute.
