Red Sox grooming Hanley Ramirez for first base

The Red Sox have officially started grooming Hanley Ramirez for first base, ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes reports. He began doing defensive drills at first base, and the team said Ramirez could be deployed there in a game before the end of the season. (Gordon Edes on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Hanley Ramirez has been horrible defensively in left field for the Red Sox this season. The change to first base may not be a great move for fielding reasons but the Red Sox have a need there and it will open up an outfield spot for one of Boston's up and coming players. Hanley Ramirez will lose his short stop eligibility for next season which will hurt his fantasy value but he should end up with first and outfield eligibility for fantasy owners.
