Yovani Gallardo silences potent Jays lineup

The Texas Rangers needed Yovani Gallardo to come up big to avoid being swept at home by the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays, and the veteran did just that, allowing only three hits over 5.1 innings in the Rangers 4-1 win Thursday. Gallardo threw 101 pitches in that short span of innings, walking three and striking out two in seeing his record improve to 11-9.
Fantasy Impact:
Gallardo was once again effectively wild. Throwing 101 pitches in just over five innings is usually a recipe for disaster, but Gallardo was able to temper a fearsome Blue Jays lineup. It was another outstanding start in the month of August for Gallardo.
