Brett Gardner limps to the end of August

Brett Gardner was 5-for-23 in the last week of the month, posting only one extra base hit. He scored twice in each of the Yankee routs of the Braves over the weekend, but was held to 2-for-6 and 2-for-7 lines in those blowouts. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Gardner was punchless in August, finishing with only three extra-base hits, and his .208 batting average was a big part of the Yankees' offensive woes. He was looking like a top-10 OF through the first four months of the season, and is still top-five in the American League in runs scored and stolen bases, but he had an OPS of .561 for August and has seen his stock plummet.
