Evan Longoria's power binge continues in Rays loss

by Mike Werner | Tue, Sep 8th 2:06am EDT

Evan Longoria continued his hot hitting ways on Monday afternoon, going 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in the Rays loss to the Tigers.

Fantasy Impact:

Longoria's two-run shot in the fourth inning was his fourth home run in the last five days, and fifth in the last seven. In 22 September at-bats he's hitting .364/.481/.909 with four home runs and six RBI. After coming into the month looking like a fringe option at third in mixed-leagues, Longoria has pumped his overall numbers back up to acceptability. His 19 home runs and 64 RBI are almost in line with the last couple years, and the .271 batting average doesn't hurt you. This hot stretch run might be exactly what Longoria owners need to get back value from their draft day investment.
