Pedro Alvarez goes 2-for-2 in Pirate win

Pedro Alvarez continues to get platooned out of games early for defensive reasons, but he made his two trips to the plate count. Alvarez was 2-for-2 scoring two runs. One of those runs was a solo shot in the second inning to make the score 2-1, Pirates. The home run was his 23rd of the year.
Fantasy Impact:
The good news is that Alvarez delivered when sent to the plate, but his defensive play and inconsistent bat have cut into his playing time. While this outing helped the Pirates and a few fantasy squads, it is not recommended to start Alvarez until he is back to being a full time player. Even then, most owners know he is a feast or famine type fantasy player.
