Max Scherzer throws seven innings, takes no-decision on Friday

by Rose Ingberman | Rangers Correspondent | Tue, Sep 22nd 12:44pm EDT

Max Scherzer emphatically demanded that he be left in to get the last batter of the seventh inning, and he did, to finish with two runs allowed (a first-inning homer) on five hits, striking out six while walking three (104 pitches, Game Score 62). Scherzer left with the score tied at 2-2, the Nationals winning it in extras.

Fantasy Impact:

The three walks are uncharacteristic for Scherzer (12-11, ERA 2.90) but the home run, unfortunately, is not. Scherzer's next start will be at Nationals Park against the Orioles, in a "must-win" game.
