Matt Cain throws five shutout innings in finale

by Benjamin Bukacek | Mon, Oct 5th 10:48pm EDT

San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain returned to the starting lineup and pitched five shutout innings in the season finale vs. the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Cain received the no-decision after the Giants' bullpen gave up seven runs in the 9th inning to lose 7-3.

Fantasy Impact:

Matt Cain finished the year with two wins and four losses. It was by far his worst year in terms of giving up runs as he finished with a 5.79 ERA. Cain was limited this year with injuries and was moved to the bullpen prior to his last start of the season. The 10-year veteran will go into the off-season looking to make the necessary changes to regain his previous dominance for the 2016 season.
