John Lackey starting Game 4 of NLDS

Lackey will get the ball to start for the Cardinals on Tuesday afternoon against the Cubs. The Cubs will counter with Jason Hammel. Lackey was the winning pitcher in Game 1 of the series in St. Louis.

Lackey will be starting on three day rest to pitch for the Cardinals on Tuesday. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny decided that he wanted to go with Lackey's playoff experience in a win or go home game for the Cardinals. This start will be the 20th start for Lackey in the postseason over his career. Lackey was dominant in Game 1 of the series throwing 7 1/3 shutout innings.
