The Rays acquire Logan Morrison as part of six-player trade with Mariners

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired 1B/OF Logan Morrison, SS Brad Miller, and RHP Danny Farquhar in exchange for SP Nate Karns, OF Boog Powell, and LHP C.J. Riefenhauser.

Fantasy Impact:

Morrison has had a very "roller coaster" type of career to this point. Coming from being a prized possession of the Marlins a couple years ago, to being traded for Carter Capps in 2014. Even though he only hit .225/.302/.383 in 2015, it did come with 17 home runs and a very respectable 15.9% strikeout rate. The Rays were in desperate need of lefthanded power, and they get a bit of that in this deal. There's also been rumblings that James Loney could be dealt this offseason as well, which if completed, would be a perfect situation for a Morrison/Richie Shaffer platoon situation at 1B with a few DH at-bats mixed in.
