Jed Lowrie hits a pair of doubles against Seattle

by Eric Townsend | Fri, Mar 18th 5:44am EDT

Jed Lowrie went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a RBI, and a run scored against the Mariners on Thursday. He also struckout once in the game.

Fantasy Impact:

Lowrie has shown flashes of potential, especially in his previous time with the A's in 2013 when he hit .290 with 15 homers, 80 R, and 75 RBI. The skills seem to be there for Lowrie to repeat that performance, but it is unlikely he will due to his inability to stay on the field. Lowrie has had 500 or more AB only twice in his career due to injuries, and simply cannot be counted on because of that. Take him as a flier in deep mixed or AL-Only leagues, as there is a bit of upside (especially since he'll earn 2B eligibility early in the season), but have a backup plan.
