Clayton Kershaw pitched a one-hit, shutout over the San Diego Padres Monday night. He walked one and struck out nine in seven innings. 61-of-96 pitches were thrown for strikes.
Fantasy Impact:
He is the number one pitcher in fantasy for a reason. His fastball command was sharp, his curveball was nasty, and his slider was unhittable. He is also working on a changeup. Granted, the Padres are not an offensive juggernaut, but if tonight was any indication, he could be in line for a monster season and justify the high cost of ownership.
