Cole Hamels outduels King Felix for improbable win

by Mitch Cox | Mon, Apr 4th 11:22pm EDT

Cole Hamels allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings of work in the Rangers season opener today. Meanwhile, his teammates managed just one hit off of Felix Hernandez, but still managed to come away with an improbable 3-2 victory.

Fantasy Impact:

Hamels walked three and struck out eight. He gave up solo home runs to Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager, but otherwise held the Mariners in check. He is the ace the Rangers need and if Yu Darvish returns anywhere close to his former self, Texas might be hard to beat in the AL West.
