Jacoby Ellsbury gets a hit in a losing effort

by Chris Zolli | Sat, Apr 9th 11:49am EDT

Although many top Yankees hitters sat on Friday, Jacoby Ellsbury started and finished 1-for-4 with a strikeout. Ellsbury has hits in each of his last three games, but only has a .556 OPS in 2016.

Fantasy Impact:

Ellsbury has not been hitting the ball well thus far in 2016, but he did have two doubles on Thursday against the Astros and has scored three times in four games this season. The early part of the season was a strong part for the Yankees' CF in 2015, as he posted a .321 batting average in April and .328 batting average in May 2015. As with many of the Yankees in Saturday's lineup, Ellsbury has been successful against Tigers' starter Mike Pelfrey, as he is 2-for-6 with a double against the 32-year-old in his career.
