Edwin Encarnacion has a RBI against the Red Sox

by Chris Zolli | Sun, Apr 10th 5:47pm EDT

Edwin Encarnacion finished 1-for-4 with his fourth RBI of the season in a 3-0 Blue Jays win over the Red Sox. Encarnacion only has a .296 slugging percentage to open the 2016 season.

Fantasy Impact:

The Blue Jays have opened the season 3-4 after going to the ALCS in 2015 and Encarnacion's poor start is a big reason why. Encarnacion is without an extra base hit through seven games and has not driven the ball well. There is encouraging news for fantasy owners, though, as Encarnacion has hits in six of his seven games and he is in a great spot of the lineup, with Josh Donaldson slugging .759 and Jose Bautista with a .500 OBP in front of him. There is nothing wrong with Encarnacion and look for him to approach 110 RBI again with MVP candidates in front of him in the lineup.
