Niese pitched six innings and surrendered four hits, one walk, and three earned runs on Monday against the Tigers. He fanned five batters.
Fantasy Impact:
This performance was better from Niese, especially considering he was facing a strong Tigers lineup. His strikeout rate through two starts is at a career high rate, and while it may not remain as high as it is now, an uptick in strikeouts could make him valuable in deeper leagues.
