Jason Grilli earns blown save and win against Marlins

by Steve Painter | Sun, Apr 17th 9:44pm EDT

Grilli is getting better and better as he continues his return from last year's injury. Today, he came in as the closer in the ninth inning and he allowed two hits and one run and recorded one strikeout. The run he allowed tied the game but in the top of the tenth the Braves scored and took the lead. Matt Wisler, yes, a Braves starter, came in and earned the save. So, Grilli earned the win as he was the pitcher of record but also the blown save from his work in the ninth.

Fantasy Impact:

Grilli was pitching today as the closer because the team was resting Arodys Vizcaino, who had 35 pitches Friday night. Vizcaino is the regular closer, but he will share that duty with Grilli this season. It has been speculated the Grilli will be traded by the July deadline as this is his contract year and the Braves want to get some value for him.
