Yunel Escobar with second straight hitless outing

by Chris Zolli | Wed, Apr 20th 9:01pm EDT

Yunel Escobar posted his second straight 0-for-4 outing against the White Sox on Wednesday afternoon. Escobar is now 1-for-17 over his last four games and has seen his batting average plummet to .274.

Fantasy Impact:

Before the rough spell that Escobar has encountered, his batting average stood at a sterling .356 and a .314 batting average from 2015 shows that this poor spell will come to an end. Escobar has shown good power to open the 2016 season, posting six doubles and a home run, and his seven walks against five strikeouts should not be discounted as well. Many fantasy owners that picked up Escobar for his hot spell will probably drop him after this second consecutive poor performance, but indicators from the early part of the season show that Escobar should be useful depth in all formats.
