Edwin Encarnacion

Second straight hitless game for Edwin Encarnacion

by Chris Zolli | Sat, Apr 23rd 10:32am EDT

Edwin Encarnacion finished 0-for-3 with a run scored in the Blue Jays' 8-5 loss to the Athletics on Friday night. This two-game hitless streak comes after Encarnacion had a eight-game hitting streak, leaving his batting average at .286 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

While fantasy owners are pleased with the .286 batting average and 11 RBI that Encarnacion have produced, they are confused with his lack of power, as he only has two home runs this season. Encarnacion had a multi-home run game against the Red Sox on April 15 and only has three doubles to go with those two home runs. He has averaged five home runs in April over the last three seasons, but 10 in May, so fantasy owners should see their slugger get into form as the calendar turns next week.
