Tigers, Miguel Cabrera continue offensive woes on Saturday

by Chris Zolli | Sat, Apr 23rd 5:27pm EDT

The Tigers have scored one run over their last three games and Miguel Cabrera has been hitless in each one, finishing 0-for-3 in Saturday's 10-1 loss to the Indians. Cabrera only has one multi-hit game in his last 10 games and has a .210 batting average in 62 at-bats.

Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera has only four extra-base hits this season, but does have decent counting stats with six RBI and seven runs scored; either way, this is not what fantasy owners expected when they drafted Cabrera in the first 15 picks. He has shown plate discipline with eight walks, but his inability to hit for power or average is perplexing for a player that had hit .337 in April from 2013-2015. Fantasy owners should be happy to know that May is traditionally Cabrera's best statistical year, but something is wrong with the Cabrera and the Tiger offense, so monitor that situation before slotting him into DFS lineups.
