Manny Machado hitless, finds a way to be productive

by Chris Zolli | Padres Correspondent | Mon, Apr 25th 7:05am EDT

Manny Machado finished 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts, but also scored his 16th run of the season in the Orioles' 6-1 loss to the Royals. Even with the hitless game, Machado has a .380 batting average. Of more note, the hitless appearance snaps his 16-game hitting streak to open the 2016 season.

Fantasy Impact:

Machado has been one of the best players this season and has 10 extra-base hits in his last 10 games. He is first in the American League in batting average, slugging percentage, and OPS; he is also in the top-five in home runs and runs scored, filling all categories for Baltimore. Machado is a top option at 3B and played SS yesterday, giving him the potential for dual eligibility for the latter part of the season. He is a top player in fantasy baseball and is only going to get better.
