James Shields gets no offensive help against the Giants

by Bret Skinner | Wed, Apr 27th 12:20pm EDT

James Shields pitched a gem on Tuesday night, going seven innings and allowing just one run on three hits. One misplaced pitch allowed Denard Span to double off the wall driving in what would be the only run of the game as the Padres lost 1-0. The shutout was their league-leading sixth shutout of the year.

Fantasy Impact:

Shields pitched well enough to earn a win, and you're happy if you used him in a DFS format, or a league that counts quality starts instead of wins. He'll go for his first win of the year in his next start against Colorado at home early next week.
