Adam Rosales replaced Yonder Alonso as a pinch runner in Friday's tilt against the Royals, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored in the 14-6 victory.

Rosales has been around since 2008 and is a career minor leaguer. He bears no fantasy relevance, given his .227 lifetime average and .291 OBP.

With Chris Owings (finger) forced to the DL and Ketel Marte going on the bereavement list, the Diamondbacks needed to make a deal for a shortstop. Rosales hit .234 with four homers and 27 RBIs for the A's this season in 71 games. He will take over as the primary SS at least until Marte returns. Rosales should be picked up in all NL-only leagues and considered in deep mixed leagues playing in a good offense with a favorable home hitter's park.

Rosales had one hit on the evening but it was a two-run double in a big six-run eighth inning rally. Rosales has had a generally quiet fantasy-irrelevant season but has hits in five of his past six games while driving in seven RBIs in that span.

He still doesn't warrant much fantasy attention beyond the deepest AL-only formats but he has collected a hit in all but two games this month.

Rosales laced a two run scoring single in the bottom of the ninth inning with the A's down a run to win the game. It was his only hit of the night otherwise but the veteran utility infielder has been a solid bat for the A's and has been getting a bevy of playing time with Marcus Semien shelved. He's still not on many fantasy radars, though.
