Coco Crisp (LF,CF)

Oakland Athletics - 21% owned

(?)
Bats: B, Throws: R

Coco Crisp and the Athletics put up a goose egg against the Red Sox in a 2-0 loss to them on Wednesday. Crisp went 0-for-4 with a run and a walk.

Fantasy Impact: The Oakland outfielder Crisp has yet to get it going this season since returning from an elbow injury on May 6th. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues right now and should still be sitting around in most fantasy leagues' free agent pools/waiver wires.

Coco Crisp has begun to take swings and throw as he works towards returning from elbow surgery. Crisp injured the elbow in Spring Training and started the season on the DL. (Source: John Hickey on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Crisp is making progress in his quest to return to the field for Oakland. He should slide back into the lineup in left field. He's worth checking into on waivers if your team is in need of stolen bases.

Coco Crisp will undergo elbow surgery and will be out for six to eight weeks. The procedure will clean out a bone spur and chips in his right elbow. Crisp had been dealing with a sore elbow for most of the spring. (Source: San Francisco Chronicle)

Fantasy Impact: It had appeared that Crisp was close to returning to action. Now it will be a combination of Craig Gentry and Billy Burns manning the corner outfield spots while Crisp and Josh Reddick are sidelined.

Coco Crisp may be starting the regular season on the disabled list. A few days ago it appeared he was nearing a return to game action, but he apparently wasn't as far along as he had hoped to be in his recovery from an elbow injury. If the team sends him to the DL, expect spring training sensation Billy Burns to make the team and get a chance to show what he can do in regular season action. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: At this point, it would be a good idea to let someone else draft Crisp. He is a good player when he is active, but he tends to get injured often and can't be relied upon for fantasy.

Fantasy Impact: Crisp has been sidelined with an elbow injury, but provided he has no further setbacks, he should be ready to play on Opening Day. Crisp is a nice source for runs scored and stolen bases when healthy.

Coco Crisp injured again

Coco Crisp was a stratch today with soreness in his left elbow. He is expected to rest for two-to-three days and then be re-evaluated. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: This is Crisp's third injury this spring. None have been serious, but this is just a reminder that Crisp is very injury-prone. When healthy he will steal a lot of bases, score some runs, and hit for a decent average. He's just a risky player to draft due to his issues staying on the field.

Fantasy Impact: Crisp is an excellent fantasy asset if he can stay healthy. The problem is he does tend to get banged up often. Keep this in mind when ranking outfielders heading into your fantasy drafts.

Coco Crisp still sidelined

Coco Crisp is currently sidelined with a right triceps strain. He will likely be out of action for a few more days. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Although the injury is not considered serious, Crisp is often injured so any ailment is a concern for him. If you are interested in drafting him this year, be sure to monitor how he does once he returns to the lineup. When healthy, Crisp is an excellent source of stolen bases and runs scored.

Manager Bob Melvin has decided to shift Coco Crisp out of center field and into left field this season. Crisp missed 36 games due to injury last season and the team is trying to keep their leadoff hitter healthy. (Source: San Jose Mercury News)

Fantasy Impact: The fact the team is trying to limit Crisp's injuries is good news for fantasy owners. Crisp should see a little less wear and tear in left field. Give Crisp a slight uptick in value going into fantasy drafts.

Coco Crisp has pinkeye

Oakland outfielder Coco Crisp will miss a few days because he has contracted pinkeye. He could miss the start of the Cactus League season due to the issue. (Source: San Jose Mercury News)

Fantasy Impact: This doesn't really impact the regular season, but it is a step in the wrong direction for the often-injured Crisp. Crisp also had pinkeye during the 2012 season and missed nine games.
