Corey Hart had 2 RBIs in his only plate appearance of the day, as the Pirates fell to the Phillies 6-4 in their final spring tuneup. Hart, who is expected to contribute at first base, finished up Spring Training with a .333 average and four RBIs.
Fantasy Impact: Corey Hart has been an intriguing player his entire career dating back to his early playing days in Milwaukee. He should provide solid numbers when he gets a chance to play, which is the biggest question mark right now. Pedro Alvarez is expected to be the everyday first basemen, and the Pirates' outfield is very crowded, so finding room for Hart to get enough at-bats to be a consistently productive fantasy player could be difficult.

Corey Hart had an RBI in Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox. Hart also made a game saving play over at first base. Hart dove and stopped the ball from trickling down the right field line, which would have scored the Red Sox winning run.
Fantasy Impact: Corey Hart is going to make the opening day roster for the Pirates because of the intangibles that he possesses. Hart can play right field or first base when needed. Hart is currently playing so well that he may run a platoon at first base with Pedro Alvarez. Hart would play when a lefty pitches for the opposing team. Hart would be a smart pick up in a larger fantasy league, and a good start when the Pirates face a lefty.

Fantasy Impact: Hart will be on the short side of a platoon at first base to begin the year. However if Pedro Alvarez struggles and Hart can stay healthy and show power, Hart may see a larger role.

Fantasy Impact: It is not a surprise that Hart's steal attempts will be down given his injury history. However, as the platoon pairing with Pedro Alvarez, the Pirates will look to Hart to complement Alvarez's power. Hart should see lots of at bats against left handed pitchers, however it remains to be seen if he can be healthy and effective this season.
According to an MLB.com article, veteran outfielder Corey Hart is looking at a potential opportunity to bat cleanup for the Pirates in 2015. After that spot in the order struggled mightily last season for the Bucs, Hart is thought of among the most likely candidates to fill the role. (Source: MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact: Hart was once viewed as a player with a ton of promise that could have been a top-tier outfielder for a generation. Unfortunately, injuries and multiple stops at different organizations have derailed his potential. Having put up 25 or more home runs in a season three times, Hart could provide the pop needed to have a lengthy stay in the cleanup spot for the Pirates in 2015 should he manage to stay consistent at the plate, as well as healthy.
