Fantasy Impact: Altuve's great game pushed him over the .300 mark on the season, now owning a BA of .304. His walk-off home run increased his career high in home runs to nine as Altuve's power is becoming more and more evident. He now owns a seven-game hitting streak as the Astros head to Kansas City to take on the first place Royals. Altuve should be in your lineup every night.

Jose Altuve got one hit in five trips to the plate, smacking his 19th double on the year and his third in the last three games. The Astros pounded the Rangers 10-0 to earn the series win.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve has gone 4-for-13 since the All-Star break, but three of those hits have been doubles as his bat is showing decent pop. With a slash line of .293/.336/.417 Altuve is looking to improve on those numbers. In 2014, Altuve batted .350 after the All-Star break with 5 HR and 32 RBI, numbers that would make Altuve the premier second baseman in MLB and fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve started off the unofficial second half strong hitting his 17th double on the season. With a batting average around .300, Altuve is a must-start in all leagues. Fantasy Impact: Altuve ended his first half of the season with more home runs than he has ever hit in a single season (8) and knocked in his 37th and 38th RBI of the year. While his batting average is not as high as it was when he led the AL in 2014, Altuve is one of the best second baseman in fantasy baseball and should be in your lineup every night.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve had his batting average drop below .300 to .299 with his hit-less game, ending his double-digit hit streak. Altuve had a tough night against Corey Kluber, but should bounce-back against Trevor Bauer who has struggled recently. Altuve is a must-start in all formats.

Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 Friday night against the Yankees, scoring one run and stealing one base. The Astros lost 3-2.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve leads the American League in stolen bases with 21, a reason he is so valuable in fantasy leagues. With a BA hovering around .300 Altuve is a must-start in every format, but he could be had in many fantasy leagues via trade. Look to buy Altuve low before he goes on a run that will make his owners think twice about letting go of the 5'6 second baseman.

Jose Altuve went 3-for-4 at the plate hitting two doubles, while stealing two bases en route to scoring three runs against the Yankees.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve looked like his 2014-self getting a multi-hit game for the first time in 10+ games. He was very aggressive on the base-paths showing no ill effects of the strained hamstring that sidelined him for seven games. Altuve is a must-start every night moving forward.

Jose Altuve returned to the Astros lineup, missing 7 of the last 9 games, and smacked a RBI-double in the eighth inning to tie the game at 3. The Astros lost to the Angels 4-3.

Fantasy Impact: It was nice to see Altuve return to game action and for the first time in the past ten games, did not show any lingering effects of his hamstring injury. Look for Altuve to string some solid games together now that he is healthy and batting third in the lineup, so he should have plenty of RBI opportunities moving forward.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve exited in the third inning after his second at-bat caused him to re-aggravate his hamstring strain that caused him miss three games over the weekend. Altuve was hitless in two plate appearances.

Fantasy Impact: The Astros have already ruled Altuve out for Thursday's game against the Rockies, as he will use the rest to try and get healthy. Altuve utilizes his speed in all aspects of his game, so if his hamstring is not right, his play will suffer. Monitor Altuve's status going forward.

Category: , Injury Updates, Game Recaps

Jose Altuve returned to the Astros starting lineup after missing the previous three games with a strained hamstring, and captured a RBI-single with four trips to the plate.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve never went full-speed in the game, favoring the hamstring slightly in his strides on the base-paths, but it did not affect him in the field or while batting. Fantasy owners of Altuve are relieved to have their stud second baseman back, as he looks to rebound from a slight slump that has seen his average dip below .300 sitting at .290 with 5 HR and 28 RBI.

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 at the plate knocking in his 26th RBI of the 2015 season. The Astros beat the Orioles 5-2.

Fantasy Impact: This was Altuve's second RBI in his last 15 games, a drastic decrease from his first month and a half this season when he led the Astros in that category. Currently batting below .300 (.297) Altuve has hit safely in seven out of his last ten games a good sign he has gotten over his 3-for-33 slump. Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 scoring one run in the Astros 4-3 loss to the Orioles.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve was back in the starting lineup after sitting for the first time in 2015 the game before. Before the day off, Altuve was in a 3-for-33 slump that saw his batting average drop below .300 for the first time since April 22nd. The multi-hit game should give Altuve some confidence back in his play, on his way to break out of his hitting struggles. With 5 HR, 25 RBI and 14 SB on the young season, Altuve should be in your starting lineup in all formats.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve got back in the hit column, after going through his longest drought of the season, three games without base-hit. Altuve was caught stealing for the fifth time this season, currently leading the AL. His aggressiveness has gotten Altuve in trouble on the base-paths, but he led the AL in SB last year with 56 and currently leads the league this season with 14. As an Altuve owner, you have to accept some caught stealing, in return for stolen bases. Altuve is a must-start in every format.

By Dan Schalk

Jose Altuve batting out of the second-hole for the second time this season, failed to reach-base going 0-for-4 at the plate in the Astros 3-1 loss to the Angels.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve has one hit in his last seven at-bats, lowering his BA to .338 on the year. Still great numbers, Altuve has gone into a mini-slump, whether that is due to the lineup change batting second instead of leadoff, or a timing issue, expect Altuve to figure it out soon and continue his MVP numbers in 2015.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve had a solid game at the plate going 3-for-4, but was caught stealing two times in the Astros 2-0 loss to the Angels.

Fantasy Impact: It was the first time in Altuve's career he has been caught stealing twice in one game. Altuve's aggressiveness is a strength, but tonight he was reckless, getting a late-jump on his first steal-attempt, getting thrown out at second and misreading Jered Weaver's timing as he got picked-off at first base for his second CS. Despite the outs created on the base-paths, Altuve raised his batting average to .349 on the year and should be in your starting lineup.

Altuve stole his 11th bag on the year, just one-dimension of his game that makes him a must-start in all formats.

Altuve hits better than .400 off of lefties over the past two seasons.

Fantasy Impact: This was a rare off-night for Altuve who had reached base safely in the last 13 games before Tuesday's contest against Texas. Owners of Altuve should not worry, the second baseman will bounce-back, he has only gone two games without a hit once this season.

Altuve is a solid play in daily leagues, consistently getting on-base every night, and is a must-start in every other format.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 scoring one run in the Astros 4-3 victory over the Angels. Altuve has now hit safely in nine straight games.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve upped his batting average to .320 with the three hits in today's game. This is the first time this season Altuve is over the .300 mark, but do not be surprised if he keeps it above that. Last year, Altuve never dipped below .330 after June 19th, 2014. An impressive statistic Altuve is looking to beat this season.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with one walk and one RBI, keeping his hit-streak alive. Altuve also stole his fourth base of the season.

Fantasy Impact: With Altuve getting on base and being aggressive stealing bases consistently, his fantasy value has not taken a hit from last season when he won the AL batting title and had the most stolen bases. Altuve is a must-start going forward.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 with a double, scored a run and batted in his third RBI of the young season.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve is riding a six-game hit streak with three of those being multi-hit games, so it is safe to say the rust to start the year has worn off for the second baseman. Altuve is a must-start every time the Astros take the field.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 3-for-4 connecting on his first home run of the season, as the Astros lost 8-1 to the Athletics.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve was the lone bright spot in the Astros loss, driving in the only run of the game for Houston. The Astros combined for a total of five hits, as Altuve had three. If you are an Altuve owner, he must be in you lineup everyday. His consistency is unmatched by any second baseman.

Category: , Game Recaps

Fantasy Impact: Altuve was in a little bit of a slump to start the year, but looked good at the plate yesterday, knocking his two hits to the opposite field. Altuve is one of the best second baseman in fantasy and should be in your lineup everyday.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 1-for-5 striking out once in the Astros 5-1 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve has not had a great start to the season, collecting only two hits in his first 16 plate appearances. More than likely, he will shake the rust off soon, four games is not a large sample size in a 162 game season. He is a must-start second baseman every week until further notice.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 0-for-3 with one walk, one stolen base, while stranding two base-runners in a loss to the Indians.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve has one hit in his first three games this season, not ideal for the leading hits leader from 2014. On the bright side, Altuve has been aggressive on the base-paths stealing his second base of the season. Sooner or later, Altuve will break out of this mini-slump and should be in your lineup moving forward.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 0-for-4 in the Astros loss to the Indians.

Fantasy Impact: The entire Astros offense looked out of sync, managing only four hits the entire game. Altuve does not go 0-for-4 often, so do not look too much into this game. The Astros second baseman is a must start every time he steps onto the field.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve was 1-for-4 with a single, stolen base, and scored the games first run, in the Astros 2-0 victory.

Fantasy Impact: Jose Altuve sparked the Astros offense as he was able to break-up Corey Kluber's no-hit bid in the sixth inning that led to the game-winning run. Altuve is picking up where he left off in 2014, getting on base and being aggressive on the base-paths. He is a must start option in all formats.

Category: , Game Recaps

Altuve led off for the Astros and went 0-for-2. He struck out once.

Fantasy Impact: Prior to this game, Altuve sported a .417 batting average. He remains one of the top second basemen in fantasy, and his fantasy owners should not be concerned. He's the second most expensive 2B in Fan Duel at $4,300 on Opening Day for a reason.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Houston's 7-4 loss to the Blue Jays. It was Altuve's third stolen base of spring training.

Fantasy Impact: If Altuve can stay aggressive on the base-paths, leading the American League in stolen bases like he did in 2014, he can make the case for top second baseman in fantasy baseball.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 0-for-3 against the Yankees on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: It was another off day for Altuve as he couldn't get anything going against the Yankees. There is nothing to worry about here as he's still a top-2 2B, and his spring average remains around the .300 mark. Draft him as you normally would.

Category: , Game Recaps

Jose Altuve went 0-for-5 against the Mets on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: Don't expect to see too many games like this for Altuve as he's far more likely to have a multi-hit game than a hitless one. Altuve hasn't found his groove just yet, but he will certainly be great again come regular season, and you can draft him as a top-2 second baseman with confidence.

Jose Altuve goes 1-for-4

Sun, Mar 22nd 2:40pm EDT
By Eric Townsend

Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with a single against the Pirates on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: It was a quiet day for Altuve, as he uncharacteristically did not join in on the plethora of scoring that was being done by the Astros. However, he is a top-2 option at 2B, and has a batting average/stolen base combo that is unmatched in MLB. Take him in the second round of mixed league drafts if you want him.

Jose Altuve went 1-for-2 (including a double) with a walk and a stolen base against the Mets. He also walked once.

Fantasy Impact: This is the kind of performance both the Astros and fantasy owners can look forward to pretty often. Altuve will likely regress some from last year's amazing numbers, but the speed and talent are real. Look for him as a top-2 2B in fantasy.

Jose Altuve hits an RBI double

Sun, Mar 15th 2:45pm EDT
By Eric Townsend

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with a RBI double and a strikeout against the Nationals on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve continues to be productive and has shown no signs of slowing down after last year's stellar season. You know what you're getting with him: around 45-50 SBs, a fantastic average (think ~.315), and a good amount of runs. If that sounds like a combination you want then draft him in the second round (where he is currently going) and you won't be disappointed.

Jose Altuve goes 1-for-3

Sat, Mar 14th 7:45pm EDT
By Eric Townsend

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with an RBI single on Saturday against the Braves.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve had another good day at the plate and looks to be rounding into form. He is a top-2 2B along with Robinson Cano and is going around the 2nd round of drafts. Be careful about your expectations though, as he is likely to regress in batting average, and is unlikely to repeat the SB total from last season.

Jose Altuve went 3-for-3 (including a double), with an RBI on Thursday against the Tigers. He also stole a base in the third inning.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve had a very productive day Thursday, as he works his way into peak form. While there may be some slight batting average regression from last year's MLB-leading .341, he should still be considered one of the top two 2B in fantasy along with Robinson Cano. If you want him you'll likely have to grab him in the 2nd round of your draft.

Jose Altuve held hitless

Sun, Mar 8th 5:06pm EDT
By Dan Schalk

Jose Altuve did not record a hit in three plate appearances, as the Astros tied the Braves 2-2.

Fantasy Impact: Altuve is looking to keep his momentum going from an All-Star 2014 campaign that saw him break Craig Biggio's franchise record for hits in one season, as he ended with 225. Altuve has potential to be the top ranked second baseman in fantasy this season, and should be drafted within the first few rounds of most drafts.
