Kyle Lohse (SP,RP)

Milwaukee Brewers - 14% owned

(?)
Bats: R, Throws: R

Kyle Lohse got the last nine outs for the Brewers on Friday night. He allowed a solo home run while walking two and striking out four batters. It was his first save of the season.

Fantasy Impact: It was a breath of fresh air for fantasy owners who stuck with Lohse (or just stopped paying attention to their teams and left him in). Don't expect many of these types of saves from him going down the stretch, he has little to no value in all fantasy leagues.

Kyle Lohse held the Cubs from scoring over two innings on Tuesday night. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse has lost all of his fantasy value after his demotion to the bullpen, but he's pitched well so far in the role. He's compiled four innings while allowing two hits, one walk and three strikeouts and zero home runs in two appearances. The Brewers hope he can keep the ball in the park out of the bullpen, as he's allowed 25 home runs as a starter this season.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse in the final year of his contract with the Brewers and has posted a 5-13 record with a 6.31 ERA. The move was no surprise.

Kyle Lohse continued to struggle on Sunday afternoon against the Cubs. He labored through 4.1 innings, allowing four earned runs on nine hits while walking one and striking out three batters.

Fantasy Impact: It was Lohse's fifth straight game where he allowed at least home run. According to Tom Haudricort of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Lohse is in danger of losing his spot in the rotation. If you play in a league deep enough to justify owning Lohse, there are certainly better options. He is a definite target in DFS as he has been unable to limit the home run ball all season.

Kyle Lohse earned his second loss in a row, number twelve on the season against the Giants on Monday. He tossed six and two thirds innings while allowing four earned runs on five hits and three walks. He didn't strikeout any batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse has allowed five home runs in his last four games, and has only three appearances this season in which he has not allowed a home run. His 15.3% home run to fly ball rate is at a career high. His 1.81 HR/9 rate is second only to Kyle Kendrick. His next start will come on Sunday against the Cubs at Miller Park.

Kyle Lohse lasted five innings against the Indians on Wednesday afternoon, allowing ten hits and five earned runs while walking three and striking out three batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse allowed two home runs, and he has allowed 15 home runs at home on the season (23 total). In fact, Kyle Lohse has only pitched three games this season without allowing a home run, two of them being wins. Lohse is not worth owning in every fantasy league, and he should be a DFS target every time he takes the mound. The Giants will get to tee off on Lohse come Monday in San Francisco.

Kyle Lohse moved to 5-10 on the season after he was pummeled by the Braves over five innings. He allowed four earned runs on 11 hits while walking one and striking out four batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse wasn't sharp, giving up a bevvy of hits including a two run home run to Kelly Johnson in the top of the first inning. It's been a rough season for Lohse, and he's not worth owning in even the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Kyle Lohse tossed six plus innings of nine hit, four run ball in Philadelphia on Wednesday night to earn his fifth win of the season. He walked two and struck out four batters.

Fantasy Impact: The Brewers offense scored eight runs while Lohse was pitching, plenty of offense to help him earn his fifth win. Lohse's ERA sits at 6.24 on the season, and he hasn't done much to help the struggling Brewers or his trade value. His next start will come against the Braves at Miller Park on Monday.

Kyle Lohse held the Twins to four runs on six hits over six innings of work on Friday night. He walked one and struck out two batters.

Fantasy Impact: The Brewers offense pummeled Twins starter Trevor May for six runs in the bottom of the first and it was enough of a lead for Lohse to hold through six innings.Lohse threw 108 pitches, 69 of them for strikes. Lohse will take his ugly 6.28 ERA to Philadelphia on Wednesday evening for his next start.

Kyle Lohse turned in a quality start on Saturday against the Rockies, throwing six innings of four hit, three run ball. Unfortunately for Lohse, the Brewers' bats could only generate one run for him. He struck out five and walked one batter.

Fantasy Impact: It was Lohse's fifth quality start of the season. Congratulations to the miniscule percentage of fantasy players who started Lohse at Coors field and got some WHIP help for their fantasy rosters. He's been rumored as a trade candidate, and depending on where he goes, he could be worth a look as a streaming option in deeper formats with a better offense supporting him. That's about as good as it could get for Lohse this season.

Kyle Lohse was the losing pitcher in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, despite holding the Pirates to two runs over six and one-third of an inning. He allowed ten hits and one walk while striking out two batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse was able to limit the damage, only allowing two of the eleven base runners allowed to score. Unfortunately the Brewers offense didn't have an answer for Charlie Morton. Lohse will look to get back in the win column on Monday against the Royals in an interleague match-up at Miller Park.

Kyle Lohse threw six innings of five run ball against the Twins in Minneapolis on Friday night. He allowed eight hits while striking out four batters and issuing zero walks.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse was cruising along with zero earned runs until the Twins shook him up for five runs in the fifth inning. Lohse was able to settle down and pitch a scoreless sixth inning, but didn't factor into the decision. Lohse is a pitcher mixed-leaguers should certainly avoid, but he has an intriguing track record and is worthy of using with the right match-up. He'll get the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Kyle Lohse was dealing on Friday night, throwing eight shutout innings against the Mets in New York. He allowed only two hits and one walk, while striking out eight.

Fantasy Impact: It was Lohse's best start of the season, and a terrific bounce-back for Lohse after he coughed up four runs on seven hits against the Cubs in his previous start. Lohse has been up and down, but performances like this make him a very intriguing option on the back end of your fantasy rotation, especially if the high strikeouts continue.

Kyle Lohse earned his second win of the season on Saturday night, tossing five innings of four run ball. He walked one and struck out seven.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse threw 106 pitches over five innings, and left the game with the scored tied 4-4. His offense proceeded to score eight more runs to give him the victory. His seven strikeouts were a season high against a Cubs team that strikes out at a league high 25.8%.

Kyle Lohse wasn't that great on Monday, tossing five innings of three run ball against the Dodgers at Miller Park. He walked three batters and struck out four.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse wasn't great, but he wasn't terrible. After allowing a leadoff home run to Joc Pederson, Lohse kept the Dodgers off the board until they scored two runs in the fourth inning. The Brewers offense was able to battle back against Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers bullpen, keeping Lohse out of the loss column. Rumors are beginning to fly about Lohse as a possible trade candidate for the last place Brewers. If traded, he could see a few more win opportunities if he goes to the right team.

Kyle Lohse threw seven innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday in Cincinnati. He gave up four earned runs on seven hits while striking out five batters and walking one.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse was a victim of the home run ball, giving up three deep shots. He'll need to limit the long ball in order to keep his team in games. Lohse is still a very risky start for fantasy owners, but he's thrown 14 innings in his last two starts and looks to be righting the ship after a very rocky start. He'll get the Dodgers at home in Miller Park on Monday.

Kyle Lohse bounced back from a rough start to the season by tossing seven innings of two-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday afternoon. He struck out four batters and walked one.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse was excellent, working on the corners and getting ahead of hitters. His only mistake was a two-run home run to Marlon Byrd in the fifth inning. He went on to shut down the Reds for two more innings after that. Lohse will look to continue his success against the Reds in a rematch next Tuesday.

Kyle Lohse was hit hart by the Pirates on Saturday, allowing six earned runs on six hits. He struck out four batters and walked three.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse is still dealing with all sorts of problems to start the season. His command varies from batter to batter, and hitters are waiting for pitches they can hit, and Lohse is throwing a lot of them. Fantasy owners would be wise to sit Lohse or move on until he can find some consistent success.

Kyle Lohse lost his second game of the season on Sunday against the Pirates. He lasted six and one-third of an inning while allowing eight hits and four earned runs. He struck out five batters.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse was pitching well until he gave up a three-run home run to Andrew McCutchen in the top of the sixth inning. He didn't allow any walks, and posted his usual modest strikeout total. He'll look to get his first win of the season in a rematch in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Kyle Lohse labored through Monday's start against the Rockies, allowing seven runs on ten hits over three and one-third of an inning.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse struggled in the opener, tossing 73 pitches before Ron Roenicke has seen enough. Lohse struggled to keep his sinker down and the Rockies made him pay, Lohse didn't seem to show any sign of injury, which is a good sign. He'll look to right the ship on Sunday against the Pirates.

Kyle Lohse roughed up by Cubs

Wed, Apr 1st 7:32pm EDT
By JP Gale

Kyle Lohse was beaten up by the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing 8 hits and 7 earned runs over 4 innings. Lohse walked 4 and struck out 3 batters.

Fantasy Impact: It was Lohse's final start of spring training. He's on track to start opening day for the Brewers against the Rockies. His performance on Wednesday should be ignored, he's a fifth starter/bench depth for your fantasy team with some nice upside for wins and ERA.

Fantasy Impact: Kyle Lohse average draft position is 275 on FantasyPros.com. While he won't dazzle may fantasy owners with big numbers, his strength is his durability and consistency. Draft him as a part of your staff and enjoy a steady stream of wins, innings pitched and a good ERA and WHIP.

Lohse went 4-1/3 innings Sunday against Oakland striking out three and allowing only one run on two hits.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse is a very reliable starting pitcher and will be solid in wins, ERA and WHIP. He has gone later in drafts due to the fact that he doesn't have a high strikeout ratio, but he will be a great value starter to round out any fantasy staff.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke made the announcement official that Lohse will be the opening day starter against Colorado. It will be Lohse's third career opening day start one of which was made in St. Louis. (Source: Brewers.com)

Fantasy Impact: Lohse, 36, is entering the final season of his three-year, $33 million contract with the Brewers. He's 24-19 with a 3.45 ERA in his first two seasons with Milwaukee and was 13-9 with a 3.54 ERA in 31 starts last year. He was the victim of seven blown saves, the highest total on the team.

Lohse continued to make a strong case to become the Brewers opening day starter by going three innings and striking out four against the Reds Tuesday. In his first 5 2/3 innings this spring, Lohse has struck out seven batters and walked none.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse's current average draft position on FantasyPros is 280. 97% of experts predict he will exceed expectations in 2015. He is on track to become the Brewers opening day starter and will be a solid addition to any fantasy staff.

Lohse pitched 2.2 innings, striking out three allowing one hit and one run in his spring debut against the Angels.

Fantasy Impact: Lohse's average draft position on FantasyPros is 284. Lohse won't wow you in any particular category, but he is a solid contributor to any fantasy staff. Last season he posted 13 wins along with 141 strikeouts an ERA of 3.54 and a WHIP of 1.15.
