Third baseman, Matt Dominguez, was picked up Tuesday by the Milwaukee Brewers off of waivers from the Houston Astros. Dominguez was DFA'd on June 8th to make room for the callup of Carlos Correa. Additionally, the Brewers have optioned Dominguez to the AAA Colorado Springs club.
Fantasy Impact
Dominguez is not very highly owned on fantasy rosters, so no immediate impact will be felt. However, this is a welcomed thing for Milwaukee, as the Brewers have been in need of a solid 3rd baseman. Dominguez could be well on his way to fill that void in the near future.
Matt Dominguez has been sent down to AAA Fresno.
Fantasy Impact
This came as no surprise to anyone who has followed the Astros during spring training, as Dominguez just couldn't get his bat going, and Luis Valbuena was outstanding. Dominguez shouldn't be drafted in any fantasy format, as his upside was minimal even if he had made the club.
Matt Dominguez went 1-for-5 with a single, strikeout, and a run scored against the Phillies.

Dominguez also grounded into a double play in the ninth inning as he continues to struggle this spring. He has lost his 3B job to Valbuena, and is fighting for a depth spot on the Astros. Dominguez should not be drafted in any format.

Dominguez has yet to impress thus far in spring training, and with the 3B job almost assuredly being Valbuena's, he is trying to just land a depth spot on the squad. Dominguez is not worth drafting in any format, and should only be monitored by those in deep AL-Only leagues on the off chance he gets a starting role.
Matt Dominguez went 0-for-3 on Tuesday against the Pirates. He also made a great leaping catch to snag a line drive at third.

Dominguez just can't get it going at the plate, at least certainly not well enough to catch the red-hot Luis Valbuena. He is looking like a longshot to retain his 3B job. Without guaranteed ABs Dominguez isn't draftable in any format, and should only be someone to monitor in AL-Only leagues at most.
