Matt Moore pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and five strikeouts against the Indians Tuesday night. He exited after the Rays tied the game 1-1, so he did not figure in the decision.

Fantasy Impact: Moore lowered his ERA to 3.00 after two starts. He is a solid starter in most leagues and looks to build off his strong finish last season.

Matt Moore pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings on Saturday. He retired the final nine batters he faced and struck out three batters, walking none.

Fantasy Impact: Moore has looked sharped this spring so far. He also finished last season going 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA in September, so there are encouraging signs that his earlier struggles from his Tommy John surgery return may be behind him. He is a nice sleeper pick in mixed fantasy leagues.

Matt Moore pitched his second consecutive quality start in the win against the Red Sox on Tuesday. He allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings. He also struck out seven in picking up his second win of the season.

Fantasy Impact: He may have turned the corner on his return from Tommy John surgery and is a good pickup to stash for next year in dynasty leagues.

Matt Moore finally pitched a quality start which was his best game since returning from Tommy John surgery. He threw seven scoreless innings, only allowing two hits and striking out nine. He departed with the lead, but the Rays bullpen gave up four runs in the 8th in the loss.

Fantasy Impact: For those in dynasty leagues that may be holding onto him, this was an encouraging sign. He will maintain his rotation spot for now as the Rays use the last few weeks of the season to help determine next years rotation hopefuls.

Matt Moore continues to struggle in his return from Tommy John surgery. He allowed eight runs in five innings against the Red Sox on Saturday night, raising his ERA to 8.42 on the season.

Fantasy Impact: Moore provides no fantasy value this season. In deep dynasty leagues he is worth stashing for next season in the hopes the former All-Star can return to form after a longer recovery.

Matt Moore didn't last long enough for the win, but he was sharper against the Yankees on Saturday. He allowed two runs on three hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Fantasy Impact: It could be next season before he starts to pitch deeper into games, having only thrown 79 pitches on Saturday. He fantasy value for the rest of this season remains limited.

Fantasy Impact: It is not clear yet if he will be placed right back in the Rays rotation. He may be worth a pickup in deep keeper leagues for next year.

Matt Moore continues to makes strides since his demotion to Triple-A. In his four starts, he has pitched to a 3.52 ERA in 23 innings. His last start on August 22 set a Durham Bulls record with 16 strikeouts in six innings.

Fantasy Impact: The Rays are expected to promote Moore when rosters expand in September. He is worth holding onto in deep keeper leagues as he should have a spot in the Rays rotation in 2016.

Fantasy Impact: It is likely that Moore will pitch in Durham until rosters expand on September 1st. A rotation spot will be determined if he can improve his location and control during his time in Triple-A.

Matt Moore only lasted three innings, allowing six runs on nine hits against the Red Sox. His ERA has now risen to to 8.78 on the season.

Fantasy Impact: It is obvious that Moore is not recovered enough from Tommy John surgery to pitch at the major league level right now. Unless you are in a dynasty league, there is not enough value for this season to warrant a roster spot.

Matt Moore struggled again in his fifth start since his return from Tommy John surgery. He gave up five runs in five innings against the Orioles on Sunday. His ERA is now at 7.61 on the season.

Fantasy Impact: Given that most pitchers may take 18 months to recover from Tommy John, it shouldn't be a suprise that Moore has struggled. His velocity has averaged about 2 mph less then before the surgery. If you are in a keeper league he is worth stashing on the bench, but may not be worth waiting for in a re-draft league. There is also the possibility the Rays drop him from the rotation and send him back to Triple-A if his struggles continue.

Matt Moore pitched five innings on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits in his win against the Astros. This was his first win since returning from Tommy John surgery.

Fantasy Impact: While his command wasn't the best by walking three in the five innings he pitched, this was a good step in his return.

Fantasy Impact: While it may be a few games before he works deep into the late innings, he should be picked up off waivers if he is available now. Given how well all the Rays starters have pitched this year, Moore should be a solid starter again soon.

Fantasy Impact: The Rays will go slowly with Moore, so he may only pitch five or six innings at best for a while. It would be a good time to pick him up now.

Fantasy Impact: Moore should make three starts or so and could be back right before the all-star break. It may be a good time to pick him up and stash him for a few weeks.

Moore threw all of his pitches in the session and said he was "pleased". This was Moore's second session and he's scheduled to throw another one on Wednesday, after which President of Baseball Operations Matt Silverman will decide whether Moore will pitch another session, or embark on a rehab assignment. Fantasy Impact: Moore is expected to be back sometime in June in his recovery from Tommy John Surgery. This is still a young pitcher with electric stuff so if you have an open DL spot in your mixed league, you might want to take a look.

Matt Moore will face live hitters on Sunday for the first time since getting Tommy John surgery. Barring any setbacks, Moore is hoping to rejoin the Rays starting rotation around mid-June. "It definitely feels more real now," Moore said. "In spring training it was one feeling, now it's more of a right-around-the-corner type feeling." (Source:

Fantasy Impact: This is a good sign for the Rays that Moore is getting closer to making his debut. When healthy Moore has the potential to be a top of the rotation pitcher. In 2013 he went 17-4 with a 3.29 ERA and was forced out with injury after two starts in 2014.

Marc Topkin reports that Matt Moore's recovery from Tommy John surgery has been going well and still on pace for June return. (Source: Marc Topkin)

Fantasy Impact: The Rays are historically very cautious with their pitchers, so look for Moore to be brought along slowly and likely more toward the end of the month.
