Neil Ramirez is finally set to rejoin the Cubs' bullpen after going down in April with shoulder inflammation. A corresponding roster move has yet to be announced.
Fantasy Impact
This is a big move for the Cubs, who expected Neil Ramirez to become the center piece of their bullpen after he finished last season with a 1.44 ERA. Ramirez pitched very well in his three rehab appearances, only giving up one hit and striking out four batters over 2.2 innings. He is currently only owned in .5 percent of ESPN leagues, so feel free to go and grab him.
Neil Ramirez was forced to leave the game with right shoulder discomfort, after coming in to finish things off in the ninth inning. He only threw three pitches (all of them balls) and was credited with the walk when Brian Schlitter came in and threw the fourth ball.
Fantasy Impact
Neil Ramirez finished fourth in the league last year with a 1.44 ERA, but it may be a while before he gets back on the mound if tomorrow's MRI comes back positive. The Cubs have already been carrying an extra reliever (Zac Rosscup) since Tommy La Stella landed himself on the disabled list, but they may be forced to bring up another.
