Is Tim Hardaway Jr. the best option at SG for the Knicks?

The young and athletic Hardaway Jr. might bring a fresh look to the Knicks this season. (Fansided)

Fantasy Impact:

The Knicks have a lot of options at shooting guard, namely Iman Shumpert and JR Smith, but Tim Hardaway Jr. might be the best option for the team to begin the 2014-2015 season. He has been very strong in the preseason, shooting 46% from the field and 45% from the 3-point line, shooting 1.8 three-pointers per game. He has not gotten a lot of playing time in his career, 23.1 minutes per game last year and 21.7 minutes per game in the preseason, but his offensive minded game could boost the Knicks. Right now, he is very raw on defense, which was a huge problem for the Knicks last year, and that may hold him back but the Knicks are not looking like a competitor this year so giving Hardaway a chance may help their future. For fantasy purposes, he would need to start to be worth a look and would need to continue his hot shooting streak to be an impact player for your team. Look to see his playing time during the first couple weeks to see if he is worth a pickup on the waiver wire.
