Richard Jefferson announces his retirement

by Sean Fitzpatrick | Sat, Oct 13th 9:23pm EDT

Richard Jefferson announced his retirement on Saturday after 17 seasons in the NBA. Jefferson was drafted by the Houston Rockets but traded to the Nets. Jefferson was a key factor in the Nets playoff run in the 2000s with Jason Kidd and Kerry Kittles. Jefferson then bounced around the league with stops in Milwaukee, San Antonio, Golden State, Utah, Dallas, Cleveland, and Denver last season. Fantasy Impact:

Jefferson was a fantasy stud early on his career with the Nets and then developed a game which could translate for more seasons off the bench. Jefferson was barely in the rotation in Denver last season so it was time.
