Kobe Bryant expected to miss remainder of season

by Tyler Stalker | Fri, Jan 23rd 4:06pm EST

Kobe Bryant is expected to miss the remainder of the Lakers' season after suffering a torn rotator cuff in his shooting shoulder Wednesday during a 96-80 loss to the Pelicans. A decision whether or not Bryant opts for surgery is expected within the next week. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

While Bryant's shooting and scoring hadn't been up to his standards this season, lessening his minutes was beginning to show real value as he upped his shooting percentage, assists and rebounds in recent weeks. If Bryant is, in fact, lost for the season, coach Byron Scott will have to strongly consider starting Nick Young, who has been the team's spark plug off the bench this season. Expect Wayne Ellington to get additional minutes, and probably the start on Friday against the Spurs in his absence.
