Kemba Walker out a mininum of 6 weeks after surgery

by Clinton H. | Thu, Jan 29th 11:54pm EST

As expected, Walker underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. The team expects him to miss a minimum of 6 weeks. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

This is a blow to the Hornets, but also to fantasy owners as Walker has been clearly the best player on their team all season. Brian Roberts will start in his place and is the only true point guard on the team at the moment. There are also rumors that the Hornets may pickup another point guard to fill the void so grab Roberts and take advantage of him while he's still useful. The Hornets are currently in 8th place and a 6 week turnaround would put Walker back in the lineup with a month left in the regular season. The potential for a playoff push may get Walker back on the court closer to that 6 week time frame.
