Kobe Bryant likely leaving Lakers after next season

by Clinton H. | Fri, May 22nd 1:36pm EDT

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said that Kobe Bryant has indicated 2015-16 will be his last with the Lakers. He's in the last year of his contract where he'll earn a league-high $25 million. Bryant will have played 20 years with the Lakers at the end of the next season. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

When healthy, Bryant was still scoring in bunches for fantasy owners early in the 2014-15 season. His ability to score will not change, however, his body doesn't seem capable of handling the big minutes anymore. Assuming Bryant is healthy next season, he's definitely worth a draft pick, just not one in the early rounds. Bryant does have a few things to look forward to next season including Julius Randle returning, the growth of Jordan Clarkson and whatever rookie the Lakers take with the number two draft pick. All of which should benefit Bryant on the court.
