Eligibility
Caron Butler was released by the Kings over the weekend.
Fantasy Impact
Caron barely played last season, as he was more of a locker room presence. He'll likely land on a team for the vet minimum, but he has very little fantasy value.
The Kings have officially signed Caron Butler to a contract.
Fantasy Impact
Caron will be a strong leader in the locker room as well as the bench. Even if he sees a fair share of minutes, he is not on our fantasy radar.
The Kings have signed veteran Caron Butler to a two year deal. He will be a much needed presence in the locker room as well as depth on the bench.
Fantasy Impact
Caron will be fighting for minutes with Omri Casspi, so neither are going to be fantasy relevant any time soon.
Butler heated up early scoring 13 in the first quarter on his way to 20 points in Detroit's 107-91 win. He shot 7-11 from the floor including 4-6 from the three-point line. Butler also grabbed five rebounds on the night.
Fantasy Impact
Butler is a consummate pro and not likely on many teams fantasy radars. He is one of those players that is better in real basketball than fantasy but can be prone to a good daily start here and there for a value price. He took advantage of a tired Bulls team and had a nice night, but he's not a reliable source for fantasy production.
Butler started at small forward for the Pistons Wednesday and scored four points in Detroit's 105-98 loss to Golden State. He also only grabbed one rebound and had one assist in 20 minutes of action.
Fantasy Impact
Not sure how long the switch to the starting rotation will last but don't expect his production to change much. The person he replaced Tayshaun Prince actually played more minutes 24 and scored eight points. At this point, neither one is a viable fantasy option.
