Martavis Bryant files for reinstatement

by Anthony Cervino | Cowboys Correspondent | Tue, Jan 17th 2:12pm EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant has filed for his reinstatement into the league with the hopes of a return for the start of the 2017 season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Bryant is currently serving his one-year suspension for multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy -- reportedly for the use of marijuana. Although he filed his reinstatement papers Tuesday, he will not be eligible to return this postseason. However, he hopes to be available to return for the beginning of 2017. The Steelers have had a revolving door at the No. 2 receiver spot opposite Antonio Brown in Bryant's absence with players that include Darrius Heyward-Bey, Sammie Coates, and Markus Wheaton. Bryant's eventual return will make Pittsburgh's offense even more lethal if and when the league's grants him his reinstatement.
