Adrian Peterson names Vikings top team to play for in 2017

Appearing on ESPN Thursday, Adrian Peterson said that he'd like to remain with the Minnesota Vikings, naming them as his "first choice" of teams to play for in 2017. "I see myself in purple. A lot has to take place," Peterson said via ESPN. "I see myself finishing off in purple. It is a business at the end of the day, so with that, things could end up differently. ... Hopefully, we can work things out.” (USA Today)

Fantasy Impact:

Throughout the 2016 season, reports loomed of a possible parting between the Vikings and Peterson this offseason. Mainly due to his colossal $11.75 million salary, plus, a $6 million roster bonus (which is due to be paid in March) he's in line to make in 2017 for a 31-year-old running back with a laundry list of injuries that are beginning to pile up on his resume. Although Peterson named Minnesota as his "first choice" of teams to play for next season, he did, however, name a handful of teams that he wouldn't mind lending his services to if not the Vikings. The Giants, Buccaneers and Texans were among the other clubs deemed possible destinations for the future Hall of Fame rusher. With the Patriots possibly in the market for a running back, if LeGarrette Blount is not retained, Peterson could make his way up to New England as they would give him his best chance to win a Super Bowl now that he is on the back end of his career.
